Hey Gentiles!
I think some of you really need to know what antisemitic language and Jew-hatred looks like online.
Since my last post, I’ve been seeing way too many people here on Tumblr (some of them people I used to follow) posting antisemitic, Nazi rhetoric celebrating and trying to justify the murders of Jewish civilians.
This Jew-hatred ONLY EMBOLDENS NAZIS AND WHITE SUPREMACISTS TO ATTACK JEWS. It does NOT help the Palestinian people.
Now, I am about to say some things that will be hard for you to hear, but I need you need to listen.
A few things before we begin, as I’ve also stated in my previous post:
1. I am a Jew.
2. I do NOT support the Israeli government, or its war crimes, or its occupation of Palestinian lands — I fucking despise the Israeli government, as do most Jews, and I support the Palestinian people. I support a free Palestine.
3. I do NOT owe you that opinion, and you should NOT go harassing random Jews online for their opinion on the Israeli government. I am choosing to share this information so that you know where I am coming from in this post.
4. I also do NOT support the murder of Jewish civilians, or a mass deportation or mass murder of Jews. Whatever we do, we need to avoid another mass extermination of Jewish people. And throughout history, mass killings of Jews tend to happen like clockwork every 70-100 years or so. And the Holocaust was about 80 years ago.
So, with all of that said, let me be very clear:
If you cannot separate the actions of the Israeli government from Jewish people, you have a LOT of antisemitism that you need to unpack.
Here’s some of the Nazi rhetoric that I’ve been seeing on my dash:
- When you say shit like this: “Most Israelis secretly support the Israeli government.” (And by the way, this is a blatant LIE, and you know it. The vast majority of Israelis do NOT support Netanyahu and the Israeli government.)
- What you are REALLY saying is this: “ALL JEWS secretly support the Israeli government.” (Just like this idiot accused Neil Gaiman of today.) (And again, this is another LIE, and you KNOW it.)
- And you are emboldening Nazis, who think this: “All Jews are part of a secret international conspiracy to take over the world.”
YOU ARE SUPPORTING NAZIS.
- When you say shit like this: “What Hamas did was brutal but justified.”
- What you are REALLY saying is this: “What Hamas did was brutal but justified WHEN THEY TORTURED AND MURDERED JEWISH CIVILIANS.”
- And you are emboldening Nazis, who think this: “I think it is brutal but justified to torture and murder Jews.”
YOU ARE SUPPORTING NAZIS.
- When you you say shit like this: “Those Israelis got what they deserved.”
- What you are REALLY saying is this: “THOSE JEWS got what they deserved.”
- And you are emboldening Nazis, who think this: “I think we should kill the Jews. That’s what they deserve.”
YOU ARE SUPPORTING NAZIS.
- When you say shit like this: “This is just what decolonization looks like.”
- What you are REALLY saying is this: “MURDERING JEWS is what decolonization looks like.”
- And you are emboldening Nazis, who think this: “I think that Jews in Israel, the US, and everywhere around the world need to be rounded up and exterminated.”
YOU ARE SUPPORTING NAZIS.
I shouldn’t have to fucking spell this out for some of you, but apparently you need to hear it:
The solution to this conflict is NOT mass murdering Jews! The solution to this conflict is NOT another Holocaust!
To make this even more crystal clear:
1. You are spewing Nazi ideology, and you are MAKING IT EASIER FOR NAZIS TO ATTACK JEWISH PEOPLE. Your words are putting Jews around the world in danger.
2. JEWISH PEOPLE ARE NOT THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT! Just like YOU are not YOUR government. This is NOT a hard concept to grasp.
3. It should NOT be hard to condemn a group that spouts literal Nazi ideology, murders Jewish people, and wants to murder MORE Jewish people!
It doesn’t fucking matter if it is Nazis or Hamas, antisemitism is antisemitism, and an attack on Jewish civilians is an attack on Jewish civilians. When you post Nazi rhetoric, all you are doing is emboldening Nazis and white supremacists, and making your Jewish followers feel afraid of you.
And if you cannot bring yourself to condemn Jew-hatred, you will have it on YOUR conscience the next time a Nazi attacks a synagogue and murders Jewish people. If you spread antisemitism, that blood will be on YOUR hands.
So…
As I state in my last post, if you are a gentile, and you see other gentiles repeating these kinds of white supremacist dogwhistles about Jewish people, here’s how you can help:
1. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Help people direct their focus away from making antisemitic statements and harassing Jews, and towards helping Palestinians.
Actions that people can take right now are contributing to verified charities and relief organizations that help the people of Gaza. Some organizations that are verified by CharityNavigator.org and CharityWatch.org are:
Anera (92% rating on Charity Navigator)
Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (97% rating on Charity Navigator)
Doctors Without Borders (98% rating on Charity Navigator)
2. Call that shit out. Tell people that they’re being antisemitic, and explain that Jew-hatred is dangerous to Jewish people. Antisemitism gets Jews attacked and it gets Jews killed. In the US, many synagogues require round the clock security to protect against white supremacists who want to murder Jews. In Pittsburgh, my old home town, a group of Nazis from north of the city planned the murder of Jewish congregants at Tree of Life Synagogue, and so far only one of them (the gunman) has been arrested and convicted of the murders. The others are still at large.
3. Encourage people to condemn Netanyahu and the Israeli government. It is *essential* that we all collectively protest against the Israeli government and hold it accountable for its war crimes. AND explain to them that it is antisemitic to celebrate someone’s death *because* they’re Jewish. ALSO, it is antisemitic to blame a random Jewish person for the actions of the Israeli government, and saying that Jews as a people are responsible for the war crimes of Netanyahu is also antisemitic.
4. Explain to people that they’re not going to solve this conflict by posting antisemitic statements and memes online. All they will do is alienate the Jewish people in their lives and make those Jews feel scared and unsafe. And they will contribute to this current wave of antisemitism.
Once again: Antisemitic hatred doesn’t help Palestinians. All it does is put Jewish people around the world in danger.
Boosting this as a Christian who can’t stand anyone getting killed, regardless of religion.

Really, the answer to most ‘so many cases of X didn’t use to exist!’ complaints is that THEY USED TO DIE.
Allergies? Gluten intolerance? Cystic Fibrosis? Seizures? Asthma? Diabetes?
THOSE USED TO BE ALL BUT DEATH SENTENCES.
Y'all ever notice that when people say “There were never that many X people before!!!” X people almost always seem to be Housebound due to Lack of Accessibility or Chance of Severe Illness, Unrepresented because no one Put A Name to the Demographic, Oppressed with Physical Violence and Societal Ostracization, or straight up fucking Dead?? Just me?
on top of all that, people might not have come into contact with the things they’re allergic to in the past. or not as much. how would a European person with a peanut allergy have ever encountered the things before American colonization? one of my friends is very allergic to bell peppers, but her Scottish ancestors c. 1700 would probably never see one in their lives. we often have much more diverse diets nowadays
(if it was a mild-moderate enough allergy, they might also just call it an “intolerance” and avoid the thing in question as much as possible. they might not have known why it got them sick, but they could definitely put two and two together)
Hi I have IBS and an intolerance is not automatically mild or moderate, you are severely misunderstanding that term! A food intolerance involves your gastrointestinal tract rather than your immune system. It can be as severe and life-threatening as anaphylactic shock, and the reason I am nitpicking is that the attitude that it’s 'lesser’ has actively threatened my life. Intolerance is not a 'step down’ from an allergy, that’s not what that word means.
I will use myself as an example: I am allergic to bananas and pork, they bother my immune system and so they are allergies; but my intolerances have to do not with my immune system but my gut flora not having the right staff-member to process, say, fructans. My intolerance to alliums is severe and can be life-threatening; my allergy to pork is mild and never is.
I agree with everything else being said–but, and I cannot emphasise this enough, people also used to die of 'intolerances’. Intolerance to a food still causes severe illness, and yet because we have 'intolerance’ and not 'allergy’, well… I know people with allergies don’t even get their life-threatening allergies taken seriously, so you can imagine how bad it is when 'it’s not even an allergy you’re just intolerant’.
And to the larger conversation I’d like to add: Diarrhoea may just an embarrassing, minor, temporary affliction today in the developed world; but that is recent and only possible because we have access to clean water to drink, toilets indoors, and modern antibacterial chemicals. It was a death sentence for most of human history. It still is if you’re part of the developed world and on the street, or in an institution, where you don’t have access to those things!
'Why is IBS so prevalent’ because like above people said, we have access to more kinds of foods AND people aren’t dropping dead from dehydration from diarrhoea all the time! For fuck’s sake, cholera and dysentery used to be YEARLY OCCURRENCES, and people died EVERY FUCKING TIME.
Don’t forget the swaths of people who would have died of chicken pox, measles, TB, polio….if your immune system is already kind of sucky, those things are gonna be way worse.
survivor bias is real
Not to mention the part where people with disabilities used to just be shoved off into asylums and nursing homes until they died, and literally, with disabled children, when they stopped warehousing them, it turned out a lot of “very fatal” things weren’t so fatal after all. The life expectancy for Down Syndrome used to be 12.
We were literally told that 50 years ago we would have been told to put our disabled child in a hospital and leave her there. By her doctor.
When she was first diagnosed (not Downs, something else chromosomal) we were told 70% mortality by age 2. She’s 18 and they now thing it’s less than 20% by age 5.
And we know that institutionalization kills, but it also (like “ugly laws”) gets people out of sight.
But also endocrine disruptors and other side effects of modern life do have effects on the body, but there have been many such things through the years. Do more people have allergies now? Maybe. Does that mean they’re lying or making shit up, or that something about the modern world makes their bodies get confused about what is food to be used for nourishment and what’s a problem to be fought with all the force the immune system can bring to bear?
(and also many “allergies” are undiagnosed mast cell disorders, because we literally did not understand these things well in the zeitgeist until very recently, or like, at all, because they’re still not fully grokked. People weren’t diagnosed with ME/CFS or mast cell dysfunction as often as they are now because those diagnoses are RECENT discoveries.)So in 1974 a Sesame Street writer by the name of Emily Kingsley gave birth. Afterwards, the doctors grimly informed her her newborn son had Down Syndrome. He was, they said, incapable of learning how to walk, talk, read, or do anything independently for what would certainly be a brief life. Their advice to Emily and her husband Charles was to send their baby to an institution, and tell everyone the pregnancy had been a stillbirth. (Again. 1974. This wasn’t benighted Victorian thinking; we had space travel and computers and heart transplants, and the best they could come up with was “stick him in an asylum and pretend he was never born.”)
Emily and Charles said “fuck that.”
With nothing but the limited resources available at the time and an enormous amount of love and determination, they took their son home and made it into a place where he could learn and grow. They tried, and failed, and they kept trying. If there was any chance, no matter how slim, that he could have a life that didn’t end with him shut away and forgotten, he was going to have it.
Jason Kingsley learned how to walk, talk, and read. He first appeared on Sesame Street at fifteen months old and in fifty-five episodes over the ensuing years, showing children and parents what Down Syndrome looked like. He co-wrote a book about his experiences. As of this posting (October 2023) he is alive and thriving. He and his parents didn’t defy the odds–they proved the odds were so grossly miscalculated that thousands were suffering needlessly.
There aren’t more disabilities now. We’ve just stopped pretending they don’t exist.

this was a great read. “Laziness Does Not Exist” by Devon Price
Begin image ID. Text reads “If a person can’t get out of bed, something is making them exhausted. If a student isn’t writing papers, there’s some aspect of the assignment that they can’t do without help. If an employee misses deadlines constantly, something is making organization and deadline-meeting difficult. Even if a person is actively choosing to self-sabotage, there’s a reason for it – some fear they’re working through, some need not being met, a lack of self-esteem being expressed.
People do not choose to fail or disappoint. No one wants to feel incapable, apathetic, or ineffective. If you look at a persons’ action (or inaction) and see only laziness, you are missing key details. There is always an explanation. There are always barriers. Just because you can’t see them, or don’t view them as legitimate, doesn’t mean they’re not there. Look harder.” End image ID.

Fuck it, Urbanism hot take night, none of you bitches actually know what gentrification is
Those dilapidated warehouses being demolished and turned into a restaurant or an apartment complex is not gentrification
No, that man with a metrosexual haircut wearing airpods on the bus is not gentrifying your neighborhood, he is a person, not the American socio-economic landscape
@clearancecreedwatersurvival You’d be surprised how many people fail to grasp this
Like people will see affordable housing being built and say “Gentrification” because it’s a 5 over 1 and has modern architecture
@timelineman-of-titors-edge A 5 over 1 is this bitch, the most hated architecture in the nation:
They are incredibly cheap to build apartment buildings with the current building codes. They are called 5 over 1’s because they are 5 floors with wooden frames over a concrete base
Shout out to someone finally getting the point of this post
@socalgal FORREAL!
what everyone describing here IS gentrification. those tags describing the thing that arent are thee literal definition of gentrification. now i dont know who told the crackers here that they’re not contributing to the problem but they are. you all are when you move to poor black/brown neighborhoods in search of cheaper(literally only for you!) housing that residents cannot afford. those cute shops/bars that suddenly pop up? the residents of colour cant afford to go there! and the ones that can are NOT the clientele theyre looking for and you all know it. white people need to stop acting obtuse and face the facts: you bring harm with you when you move in these places. you price these people out when you come because the government, businesses, and hell, even other white people place a higher value on you than us. YOU are the problem and you need to grow up and face that fact. if you dont like it do something about it instead of shifting the blame. small scale gentrification IS still gentrification. it builds in these small insidious pockets until every black and brown person gets moved out for YOU whitepeople.
what i absolutely hate about white people what makes me literally ILL about white people is the way like despite decades of study, analysis, and academic writing on gentrification they just wake up one morning and decide to poof it all away in their minds because some random racist people experiencing mentally crippling white guilt decided that everyone else is wrong, that the only valid definition of gentrification is the one that makes them feel good. this kind of attitude and thought process is the backbone of the white moderate racism that black liberationists have been critiquing for decades and its so fucking sad!!! but to a white person their feelings will always conquer reality, they will always discard the reality of their actions to protect the fantasy land in their minds where they are constantly the underdogs who can do no wrong, in fact any analysis of systematic racism that depicts them in any other light is Misunderstanding them. Its not accounting for their fragile white feelings, therefore it cant be true.
i just dont understand what how you fix people like this? i dont understand how you share any community spaces with them either. hundreds of black voices crying out about the concept of gentrification for decades, academical writings and personal accounts, the economy permanently damaged from this insanely fucked up economic practice thats it clear as fucking day but all it takes is one completely unqualified ass cracker to do what crackers always do and decide their feelings are actually intellectually defined fact and 30k other crackers just go “yeah ill believe that. ill decide thats my understanding of gentrification. this white person is saying racist shit i want to hear without making me feel bad so sure this random fucking post on a social media site is the best understanding on fucking gentrification okay!” like how do you fix that!?! these people need to be lobotomized

Standing on the picket line is a cute gesture, but let’s not forget how he prohibited the rail workers from striking for safe minimum staffing and the ability to take sick days.
Also, this “cute gesture” is something no US President has done.
Fuck off with yourself now.
Obligatory Biden not perfect disclaimer blah blah blah (do you people still expect to get perfect politicians??? apparently I guess)
But.
Going to a picket line is actually a huge deal. There is a reason no other president has done it.
Brief explainer:
A picket is not a protest. They have different goals and they are viewed differently under the law. A protest is meant to disrupt and to draw attention to an issue. A picket is meant to stop scabs from entering a workplace to replace the workers picketing outside.
This means that, historically, pickets were often very violent. When people in the 1920s wanted to stop you from entering a factory, they did not confine their tactics to angry yelling. This is why the courts treat pickets differently, and they do not enjoy the kind of broad free speech protections that protests have.
Biden standing on a picket line is huge in a number of ways. It’s a statement by a sitting president that no one should go to work at that workplace, for one, which kind of wild in and of itself when you think of it. Who the fuck is gonna scab when you have to walk past a picket line that includes the fucking president.
It’s also granting a kind of implicit sanction to picketing as an activity that it has never historically gotten. Picketing is one of those things that even the FDR administration was a little wary of. The law tends to approach it as something that is techhhhhnically allowed and we can’t stop you…but it’s something that needs to be reined in, controlled, corralled.
And like, is this the most radical thing a president has ever done? No. Is it going to magically fix everything related to organized labor? Absolutely not. Is Biden the most pro-union president ever? No again because FDR existed. But he is the most pro-union president of my lifetime.
And as someone who knows a lot of labor history, having a sitting president on a picket line is honestly kind of breaking my brain a little.
Other things that the Biden administration is doing or has facilitated (by getting non corporate hacks into critical positions for example) which are not getting talked about:
2024 is coming.
The Republicans have the 2025 Project that wants to literally imprison and genocide queer and disabled people.
The Democrats are giving us our money and lives back.
Show this to EVERYONE WHO YOU KNOW.
Tell them the difference.
Get them out to vote.
We have a chance to have a country that is worth living in if Democrat candidates keep winning.
